No.1
Hetty and Stanislas? If so, it would be about 1909.
No.2
This woman looks similar to the woman in No.1. If it is the same woman it isn't likely to be Hetty, because of the writing on the back of the postcard - "with love, yours affectionately, Winnie". Winnie was a sister of Phyllis Widdicombe.
No.3
Is this the same boy as in No.1? Hair parting is on the opposite side, but could have been printed mirror image. The back indicates the photographer's studio was in Plymouth which strongly suggests a connection to the Widdicombe family. Written on the rear - "Wishing Aunty Brabyn a Happy New Year". Who was Aunty Brabyn?
No.4
Written on the back - "1910". Is this Hetty? It doesn't look much like her. In 1910 her sons Stanislas and Bertrand would have been 4 and 2 years old. The youngest child in the pram looks under 12 months. It looks like a substantial house and garden.
No.5
Written on the back - "Bertrand Claude Hetty". Taken c.1921 when Bertrand was 13 and Claude 10 years old. Sand dunes - Wirral Peninsula? Smart car in the background. School blazer badge - HCS. At this time Jean Jacques was working for the French Army as a translator.
No.6
Surely this is Hetty ... an older looking version of the known photo of her with Claude and Bertrand. Adopting a strange pose!
No.7
Believed to be Claude and Bertrand. Maybe at Dulwich College? The same location as No.6?
No.8
Thought to be Bertrand ... but, a totally different hairline to the schoolboy Bertrand in No.7. And compare the mouth and eyes to the following photographs of Bertrand as a young man.
No.9
Bertrand
No.10
A captivating portrait - thought to be Robert Schwob. The only Robert Schwob I can find is Jean Jacques' cousin 1x removed (1901-1922), the grandson of Edouard Schwob, one of Paul Schwob's older brothers.
"Art House, special workshop for children. A C Delpierre, 83 Rue Nationale, Lille. We operate with artificial light, all the pictures are kept and can be reproduced in any format"
Staff posing at the Grand Skating Lillois - the same outfit as above.
No.11
